well.. i havent found anything to hint that they're harmful, but i would make sure you place them in a quarantine tank for a week or two to make sure they are healthy and stuff.  You might want to research them a little more, but so far they seem harmless to me, which is neccessary for a turtle because they most likely will take a couple bites if not completely devour them. anybody else know anything?
