I found in the last couple of weeks after cleaning the water and basking platform of my tank that a thin layer of what looks like Oil kept appearing on the waters surface. I have noticed that over time that the basking platform is painted as I can see the discoloration of the resin, so I decided to remove it to see if it is the platform, and sure enough it was. The thin layer of what I thought was Oil was actually the paint. I would like to know if anybody else has experienced this problem and if so let me know thanxs.

Yes, I have around my basking platform. It's just a thin layer though.

I have found that will happen if you feed your turtles in the same tank that they reside.  There is a little bit of oil in the pellet food (if you are using this type of food that is).
