I have two baby RES and they live in the same tank. One is a litlle bigger then the other but both about the size of a quarter. Well the bigger one loves to nip and bit at the smaller ones head and tail. what do you think the reason for this is?

Thank you

thank you. and they are in a 10 gal tank and they have alot of room to swim and play and etc. but i dont know what it is but the bigger one (Bonnie) loves to nip at the smaller one (Clyde). i really want Bonnie & Clyde to stay in the same tank but if i have to seperate them then thats what i have to do. does it also matter if the are both females or both males?

Honestly 2 turtles in a 10 gallon tank is not going ot end up a good thing. The bigger one will most likely really damage the smaller one.  Turtles really dont like to live together, they will bask on top of each other etc..but they are solitary in every other way.

In order to save yourself some heart ache and a torn up turtle you really need to put them in seperate tanks.  While some turtles will do fine together, if they are biting and stuff already it will only get worse.

Good luck.  P.S.  They need alot more room even seperated in order to thrive in captivity.
