My son just received 2 red-ear sliders for his birthday.  He also got the Mangrove Swamp for them to live in.

My question is this...What is the best way to provide heat for this habitat?

I saw a heating pad at PetSmart that says it can be used on small plastic habitats, but it must go on the side.  if I put it on the side of the Mangrove Swamp, less than 1/3 will be below the water level.

Any advice is appreciated!

Red eared sliders need deep water to swim and dive in. If they are of any size you are going to need a 40 to 55 gallong to get them of on the right foot. When you up size let us know and we will help you with filter size, heater size, lighting, etc.

you need a real tank. the heating pads are ok but u really want a submersible heater in a 55 gallon tank to start.. they need room to swim also a basking area wit a uva/uvb bulb and a filter..you should be able to find everything from turtlesale with the exception of the tank.
