hi guys,ever since i was five i have been taking care of my red ear slider and i am 24 years old now.i went out of town and did not feed him for a week,when i came back he was not as active and his left eye was closed but a little open,is he sick?please tell me how to make him feel better because just because of one week i do not want to lose my red ear slider that i been taking care of for 19 years!i know this tread is wrong but i need to get peoples attention.

The next time you leave get an automatic fish - turtle- feeder. Next, get your water clean and get some medicated eye drops for turtles. Until he recovers put the drops in and dry dock him a few hour per day. Try 3 or 4 hours per day and continue to put in the drops while being dry docked. He should be fine. b.
